We are not lone rangers. We are part of the Body of Christ – the historic, worldwide Church united under our Head, Jesus Christ. This invisible connection is made visible through our connection with several smaller parts of the universal body of Christ.
Urban Light Community Church is a member of the Churches of God, General Conference of Findlay, OH. We are a part of the Midwest Region of the Churches of God. We have been supported by and are in relationship with Midwest Church Planting. Midwest Church Planting is in turn connected to Glocalnet, a group that focuses on church planting, community development, and nation building. We share many values with Midwest Church Planting.
Locally, we were birthed out of the Movement of Alliance Communities and are connected to them through a teaching pastor team that meets weekly for communal interpretation of Scripture and ministry support. Many of our values have been birthed out of Muncie Alliance Church.
We were also birthed out of Neighborhood Restoration Group, the original name for the Christian community development team that began in South Central Muncie. Today, that entity has morphed into Urban Light Community Church. We study and live out the principles of the Christian Community Development Association, founded by John Perkins.
